"Nice park but if you want to go hiking, it is very poorly marked and trails were overgrown."

"I went here yesterday for the first time in many years, as I used to bring my dog here back when she was very young between 2010 and 2015 or so, and I have to say I was most pleased. The trails were found to be very clean, and the overall experience was very peaceful. People encountered were all very friendly too. I am so happy that I live fairly close by Witek Park as this is truly a real treasure here on the East Side of Derby, and most definitely a place where one can go if they are seeking peace and solitude. For kayaking, as I am no longer doing sea kayaking or long river touring... from the looks of things, I have a feeling I'm going to be kayaking here pretty regularly as I already have my permit*, which is easy enough to get [*I did it through the mail and it gets sent out real fast...] and I bet especially in the fall as the leaves turn this place is going to be spectacular for again those seeking a quiet paddle, in search of peace and solitude. I did not see too much in the way of wildlife, but that could have just been due to my timing of my hike, but I am sure there is water fowl to be seen if you know where to look, along with raptors, etc... I do know this, after visiting this park yesterday I plan on being a regular visitor be it kayaking during the nicer weather or hiking all year round, and if it ever snows again like it used to all those years ago, the wooded area past the soccer fields are spectacular for snowshoeing, as there is no greater story teller than the wildlife tracks one will see in the snow - trust me on that. Highly Recommended, and please - take out what you bring in, Don't Litter !!"

"A hidden treasure for walking the dog, hiking, fishing or kayaking. Plenty of parking available and the city has recently cleared out an area to open up space for fishing (2021). If you walk up the road to the soccer field, you can take the path that brings you to the other side of the reservoir which has kayak access, a long stone wall that makes a great fishing spot and a small waterfall. If you continue to take the trail through the woods you'll hear bullfrogs and may see a swan family lounging in the distance."

"Nice place to go for a relaxing evening. It has very tall pines near the entrance. It's located right on Sentinel Hill Rd. In Derby. Just before the three way intersection near Bradley school. The lake is very nice. There's a war memorial there and flagpole. There's a trail that doesn't go too far into the surrounding woods. Picnic tables and lots of shade and sun, whichever you prefer."

"This is a very nice park. Great to walk your dog or just take a nice casual hike. A couple small trails off the main path. The early morning is beautiful there. Have yet to experience a summer here yet but the soccer fields tends to make me believe that the place gets pretty full with people. Dog owners do not pick up their dogs waste which is pretty sad considering how many people use the park for their dogs. Literally dog poo every couple of feet when you really look. Couple of ducks and geese seem to reside here and it’s great to see them every morning"
