"It's like you're in a Wes Anderson movie. Would recommend."
"Mr. Menendez visited the day after I called to give me an estimate on the furniture repair I need. He is skilled and worth his cost."
"Excellent work and very good prices. These finishes are by hand french polish and he is a master at doing this technique. It seems the other cry-bully reviewers had their feelings hurt because they didn't like his accent and he doesn't give prices over the phone. Actually - it is industry standard for furniture refinishers to not give a price without seeing the piece first and I can't think of any other finisher who doesn't operate in the same manner. As far as his phone manner and accent? Part of what makes this an interesting experience! Bottom line is that the work is excellent, the prices are good, and the work is finished in a timely manner."
"***BUYER BEWARE*** My girlfriend and I wanted some furniture reupholstered. This one man shop seemed like a good deal, but it was not. Not only does he have a thick accent, but he also does not try to understand you and just keeps repeating whatever he says without giving you any information. He does not want to give you a price up front and he will later try to change anything he does say. He took a very long time, I believe because he had more important customers to deal with. The quality was mediocre at best. We had brought him a second chair before getting a chance to really review the first one, so once we found that we did not like the quality we asked for our second chair back. He had not started to work on the second chair so he told us to come pick it up. When we got there he did not have our chair for us and told us we were bothering him and wanted us to sign a paper saying we would pay him for the chair we wanted back that he had done no work on. We went to the police and the officer we talked to has dealt with this person before and was not at all surprised. This guy has no problem telling you how long he has been running a business in America, but he hasn't bothered to learn the language or how to be a decent human being. Only go here if you want a headache and to lose money."
"I only reached this person by phone, but the whole conversation was bewildering. He kept interrupting me, and I had a difficult time with his accent. I asked (very politely) about the price, because I don't have the slightest idea, and he told me "This is America", which was confusing. He kept calling me "Man", and was very aggressive - not really rude, just very aggressive. If the whole experience is like that call, I don't recommend it."
