"What an amazing family business. They have been pillars in the community for decades and have yet to fail my family and myself. The attention to detail and their compassion is unparalleled to any other company around."
"I spoke with Carmine on the phone this week and ordered mulch for my yard. He was very friendly and helpful. Delivery was quick and I am very happy with the quality of the mulch. I will be ordering stone as well! Very reasonably priced! Thank you! Brenda C."
"I purchased a yard of stone from Berlin Stone and Mulch. The gentleman that I talked to on the phone prior to the delivery was very personable. I asked if they had Pink Carnation. He said no, but that rose granite was close enough. I brought a sample of my stone to the shop and it looked close enough. They delivered it quickly and were reasonably priced. The problem was that, after I laid down the yard, it wasn't really close enough. I called this afternoon to ask advice. The lady I spoke with was borderline rude. She asked if I had brought a sample. I replied that I did, and her response was "well, you paid for it". I wasn't seeking a refund. I was calling for maybe some good advice. So, long story short, quick delivery, reasonably priced, but some folks in the office could use some customer service training. I'll go elsewhere next time."
"Unfortunately, didn't even get past the phone phase. Very rushed info over the phone. Stated my town and girl on the phone she said they don't deliver out of state. Ha. Like know your local towns before spitting out such absurd comment. I specifically asked what's the furthest they'll deliver to and she blurted out that they don't deliver to my town. Lady, pay attention. I asked a specific question. I asked again and then she stated the furthest mileage radius that they deliver. Attention when speaking to customers is a must."
"I purchased 30 yards of what was sold as screened top soil last April. It was definitely not screened, as basketball size chunks of concrete don’t make it through screens. It was also loaded with stones and broken glass - still finding pieces of glass and the stones are still surfacing after the winter. We couldn’t keep new grass alive, despite feeding and watering. It completely does off over the winter, so we had it tested. It’s highly deficient and needs a lot of nutrients. We would have been better off purchasing packaged soil. They won’t make this right because they said we waited too long to bring it to their attention. Whether I told them a few months ago or now, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s sub-standard material that should not be passed off as top soil. It does t seem to be a good business practice. I had planned to buy stone for the landscaping around my driveway, but I won’t be doing that now. I also won’t recommend them to anyone else."
