"Nice open space with simple decorations. Multiple TVs on wall. Got the 2 meat sampler, baby back rip and brisket, meat is juicy and falls off the bone, have a good smoky flavor. Surprise to see there are a lot of Asian dishes on the menu: PHO, dim sum, and a few Asian side dishes."
"The brisket and pulled pork were just the right amount of smokiness and very tender. The Brussels sprout and coleslaw sides were delicious. My son had the Post Oak burger and it was really good! I would recommend going here."
"Being from Texas, I have a rule when it comes to picking out BBQ places. And , that is if I can't smell the smoke from a mile away, I'm not going. We'll, let's just say I didn't follow my own rule. When I enter the restaurant, I'm greeted by Karen the host. I make my way to the bar where I'm greeted by the bartender, Danielle. I ordered the three meat plate with Brisket,Ribs and the hickory sausage and two sides, one being Cole slaw and the other is the Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and honey. I started off by tasting the side which were delicious. I then proceeded to cut into my brisket which was tender with a very small smoke ring on the bottom of the brisket. After that bite I knew it was gonna be a bad meal. The brisket tasted like it was fresh out of the oven with no smoke at all. Next I cut into my ribs that looked beautiful. As I'm cutting the ribs the meat begins to separate from the bone, so I had to be gentle to keep the meat on the bone. I take a bit of the ribs and the smoke is perfect with a very pleasant smoke taste with light seasoning. The last meat to sample is the hickory smoked sausage. I loved the pop of the casing on the sausage and the consistency of the meat inside. It was a little too much fat inside for me but it was still a decent sausage. Overall the service staff was nice but the manager on staff wasn't very hospitable. Since I was sitting at the bar she passed by me a couple of times but never asked me how my meal was or let alone spoke to me. She did greet just about everyone who walked through the door though, just not me. It's really hard to want to go to a restaurant that's supposed to be a BBQ place and there's no smoke of any kind on the brisket when that's what they put the most of on your plate. However, it is a nice space with plenty of lighting throughout. They should call themselves Post Oak Grill instead of BBQ. That name is so deceptive!"
"We visited Post Oak to check out their new menu, which had BBQ with an Asian flare! One of the owners is Taiwanese, so her recipes are authentic and everything from the dumplings, bao, and wontons were incredible. I think it’s a cool concept to have BBQ and Asian together, I haven’t really seen that previously! My fiancé loved his old fashioned and BBQ sampler platter, and we were really impressed at how flavorful the turkey was especially. The smoked buffalo wings were great too! I enjoyed my mac & cheese but did feel the mac could’ve been a bit cheesier, but that’s probably more of a personal preference. My Nutella and fluffernutter milkshake was good, but I didn’t get too much peanut butter. The bread pudding was very good for dessert! We sat at the bar, and the bartender taking care of was so friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. I’m curious to come back for brunch and to check out the beer garden when it’s warmer."
"Best BBQ we’ve had in a long time. Recently came for brunch and had the Brisket Hash was phenomenal, home made etc. We’ve also had the coconut shrimp, baked beans, pulled pork, wings, steak tips- we’ve tried it all and it’s all worth the visit. Danielle the bar tender makes you feel like you’ve been friends for ever, best service."
