"Enjoyed breakfast on our way home from Old Saybrook. Small restaurant with very friendly staff and great food. Seemed very popular with locals which usually is a sign of good food at reasonable prices. Good place to try."
"Love, love the food and staff of this fabulous breakfast lunch restaurant! Great specials. The sausage and biscuits best in CT. The homemade muffins and breads out of this world! My favorite is the Cinnabon bread. Yum! Outdoor seating if you have a dog with you. Right on Main St, Deep River if you want to pop in one of the local stores after very nice unique gifts and clothing."
"The best breakfast we have had in YEARS. This is a real hometown diner - nothing pretentious. Counter-and-stool seating plus both indoor and outdoor sidewalk seating. Even a few old fashioned booths! Food is homestyle like you would have had 30 years ago. OK, I did see avacado one time on the menu, but nowhere near the word "toast". Eggs benedict was the BEST we have had - the hollandase is thick and rich, covering a perfectly poached pair of eggs. Old fashined homefries and regular brewed coffee served and refilled in a regular sized mug! Bisucits and sausage gravy was a special on the board, but they only make so much, it was out by 10:30. Go early if that is your desire! Service is perfect. Best part - three of us got out for $40 for breakfast, with plendy in a to-go box. Dog-friendly outdoors. While you are there, check out two great local shops (Anchor & Compass, Compass Rose, Bennetts Books) all within sight. Go, you will be happy. Easily worth an hour drive on a Sunday. Within 10 minutes of Old Saybrook."
"Possibly the best variation of Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had: corned beef hash and spinach. The home fries were on point too. Quick with the coffee refills and super friendly service."
"Very Hearty Breakfast. The corned beef hash was chock full of quality meat. The OE eggs were cooked perfectly. The home fries were very good as was the rye toast. The waitress was slammed but managed to stay out in front of it. Very friendly staff and to watch the kitchen bang out meal after meal was fascinating. The ambiance is a perfect fit for Deep River feel. Plenty of street parking."
