Banfield Pet Hospital

"I've had pleasant experiences here in tems of the care they provide, but it is nearly impossible to get an appointment when you need it unless it is planned weeks to months in advance. It seems as though they only schedule appointments until about 3:30 pm during the week, which is extremely difficult with a regular work schedule. I've had an important, but not necessarily emergent health problem with my pet for days and the soonest appointment I can get is 7-10 days out. I ended up having to take my pet elsewhere to get this addressed in a timely manner, which is disappointing because I'm enrolled in the wellness plan with Banfield. I understand not getting a rapid appointment for a non life-threatening emergency, but over a week for a reasonable appointment is really disheartening."

"I am not one to ever write a bad review but here it is. I have a French bulldog who has been coming here since she was a pup and I brought her to banfield back in March of this year for a wellness check and for a spot that we wanted biopsied. After the BX Dr. Valley? Didn’t really discuss her BX. The discussion was really about her weight and to feed her smaller portions. She stated when you look down at my dog, her sides pop out and usually a frenchie should be more narrow towards their bottom…RED FLAG. But I’m not the doctor so I didn’t think anything of it, my dog was examined but as a vet you would think since my dog has been coming here since she was a puppy, all examinations and wellness visits up to date that they would notice something was off. My dog got out of my backyard and someone found her and brought her to Deer Park vet hospital on deer park avenue and just having her for 5 minutes examined her and said get her checked because it looks like her organs are shifted. I bring her back to banfield for a sonogram for them to tell us “SHE HAS A HUGE MASS ON HER LIVER AND ITS CONCERNING”…She would need an xray and it’ll be $500”. Now it’s concerning? Banfield, you need to do better. Did you not notice my dogs stomach was hard and one side was bigger than the other? Again I’m not a vet so WHAT am I paying you for? Beyond outraged and upset that the woman my sister and I spoke to today seemed “concerned” but became chipper once I made an X-ray appt so she can get paid. I will be cancelling my appt very soon."

"I never write reviews but this experience was quite upsetting. I took my dog to Banfield for some routine matters. He is a large dog who has quite a bit of anxiety despite all the training. While waiting for the blood results in a room, all I heard from the other side of the door is “ I can’t stand/ I’ve had it with these large f…..g dogs without trainers.” I am assuming one of those f…..g large dogs this vet assistant was referring to was my dog. Very unprofessional and disappointing. I’ve mentioned it to the veterinarian and she was lovely and said it would get addressed. I don’t think I would feel comfortable taking my dog back for care, not sure how he is actually treated when we leave him there."
