"I had the pleasure of coming here recently for a concert to see Maverick City, and this is my 4th time coming to the Lyric over the years. I enjoy the Lyric and it's convenient location in proximity to the bus, subway and light rail. For Maverick City, parking was $15. But the subway (even though there is an 8-10 minute walk) is another option to consider. There is a bag policy! If you bought tickets they will email you a few days beforehand about it with all the details. Basically clutches, small purses and clear bags are fine. No large bags! I had a seat in the Orchestra, in Row V. Before the pandemic I came here to see Alvin Ailey and before then I attended two graduations here. I sat in the box for Alvin Ailey and had a great time. I like the Lyric, it's a beautiful venue and they've gotten some great acts to come through. There was a restoration fee I had to pay but I didn't mind! The seats are velvet and pretty roomy (I'm a plus sized woman), and the ceilings are very high up. I didn't have any issues with sound or lights when I went to see Maverick City or Alvin Ailey. They sell concessions outside the theater as well. Overall, check out their events calendar, you may see something you like! I had no complaints and would definitely come again/I would recommend the venue."
"Great venue! Small, a bit older, but it felt more intimate that way. Great view from balcony seats. The chairs are a bit small, that's my only complaint."
"Went to see Blippi here a few weeks ago and had a good time. I would rate the venue a 5 but the clear bag and size restrictions were insane for a children’s program. There were small children of all ages and so having to go thru metal detectors on top of them checking bags placed lines down the street near traffic. The building is literally on a busy traffic street. The other issue I would say is no designated garage parking for that is attached to the venue. Not physically attached but nearby and owned by a company that serves as an option when you purchase your tickets. Thankfully there was a parking lot across the street that someone setup as their side hustle. It was $15 on a Saturday. You cannot beat that price. The venue staff were kind and helpful but the food prices were astronomically overpriced. It’s so shameful how they do that when it’s kid shows knowing again, you have bag restrictions and cannot bring food inside to a children’s program. Three hotdogs, a box of candy, and one drink cost $50. That’s insane. Finally, not sure if it was the production or the venue but Blippi (the main character’s) microphone went out and he could not be heard for a lot of the show. We were about 5 rows from the front and still could not hear him. That’s a bit disappointing knowing that much of his character is about his voice."
"We went to see Ms. Pat, Ya Girl Done Made It Show, at The Lyric Baltimore Performance Arts Theater. Ladies please save yourself some time and check the bag sizes sign that is allowed for entrance into the Lyrics. Our seats were great and It was a great show from the beginning to the end!!! If you park at the The Fitzgerald Parking Garage that is located in the rear of The Lyric Baltimore Performance Arts Theater across the street. This event parking fee is $25.00 in full and has to be paid in advance prior to entering the parking garage. This garage is Terrible with a long wait time to exit."
"The Lyric has always been on of my favorite local venues to see concerts & plays. I've seen various artists from Prince to Anita Baker. The building is a fusion of the original building & the new entrance/lobby area. On this evening I saw George Clinton & Parliament. Enjoyed the show! Loved listening to the music I grew up on. I truly was happy to see George Clinton the "Pioneer of Funkiteers"."
