Tompkins Manor Apartments 505 Central Avenue, White Plains, NY 10606

"It was not a pleasant experience living here in this run-down building. We rented from owners and could only rent for 4yrs. We asked to extend and were denied by the board then nickel and dimed when we were required to pay $500 to move out. Also, there was a mice infestation when we were there due to construction in the garage that was too expensive for us to get a parking spot in. We had an assigned parking spot outside where our car was constantly pooped on. Solution was to the mice was to throw some glue traps our way. Parking was initially convenient until they locked the side door that would allow us entry directly to our unit. We then had to walk completely around to the front of the building with our two young ones. The washer/dryer on our floor rarely worked, but you wouldn't know it until after you wasted your money. Someone started to wash their cloth diapers in the washing machine shared by the floor. Ew. Some staff were very nice. The board was not. Felt like I escaped once we finally moved into a decent apartment building. Cannot recommend."

"Terrible management there. Building is old and in need of repair. Total disregard for tenants and their needs. Unequal enforcement of rules. Would award no stars if possible."

"I had a unit years ago and had a terrible experience while I was there. The management is border line criminal. I had an emergency in my unit and they refused to give me the keys to my own place. I had to get a lawyer just to get my keys. Another incident was My walls were soaked with water and plaster was soft. I called and said my walls were soft and mushy and there must be a leak on the exterior wall and she said it was because my window were open. Unreal!!! The women in charge is extremely rude and cheap with repairs. I would have never bought the unit if I knew how bad they were."
