"I’ve been to Sally’s in New Haven several times. Their tomato pie is my favorite pizza in all of New Haven, and I’ve been to all the big 4 multiple times, including the New Haven Pizza Tour. I’m also a Stamford local who has tried every pizza in town. If you dine-in, it’s the best pizza in Stamford. It’s thin and crispy, and the flavor of the cheese and tomato is there. For maximum tomato flavor, get the tomato pie (my personal favorite. If you’re a cheese head, get the mozzarella and tomato. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the white clam pie or the potato and rosemary pie. For this trip, I brought my cousin who is from Chicago (the land of terrible pizza) along with my two toddlers. It was very busy around Christmas time, but we had booked a table ahead of time. They had a DJ playing which we did not mind. We ordered a half tomato pie, half mozzarella and tomato. We also decided to try the Italian wings. Everything was great. The pizza was thin and crispy with authentic char. It’s as close to New Haven as you’re going to get without actually going there. Some may agree with me here - the pizza changes when it goes in a box. It’s not the same if you get takeout or delivery. Not this style pizza. It will lose its crispiness. At that point it’s really a different pizza and it’s hard to judge it like that. So in the case of take out or delivery, there may be better options. But when you eat it there fresh out the oven, nothing beats it."
"Delicious pizza, was a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews however we really enjoyed it. Got a build your own red sauce and mozzarella pie and it did not disappoint."
"Delicious food with great flavours. Staff were helpful, but the kitchen was delayed in making both pizzas in my takeaway order, so we had to wait."
"This is a really nice spot especially for large parties. I came with colleagues from work and in total we were 12. We shared 3 large pizzas. Nice variety. The slices were very long and narrow. I loved the flavors. The original slice was great. The rosemary potato was interesting. The fresh tomato was also pretty good."
"Went in for the first time for a Tuesday lunch, after recommendations. Place was really quiet, service was great. We ordered the calamari’s to start, which were probably some of the best calamari I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend! Then ordered the garden special pie, which wasn’t the greatest, maybe a 7/10. Also as a heads up, the medium specialty pies can feed more than two people! Overall would recommend."
