Haven Pizzeria Napoletana 22 Union City Road, Prospect, CT 06712

"We went with friends tonight for the first time. As soon we walked in we felt like we were in a high end restaurant. We sat at the bar and had a drink, super nice atmosphere. They had a large party of 40 people coming to the bar area so we sat in the restaurant side. One thing that came to mind on the way was with all the people there, 3/4 full on a Sunday evening, was amazingly quiet, it didn’t have that loud pizza place feel. Last but not least the pizza out of this world. And they have a full gluten free menu. On a one to ten this was a solid 9+. It’s our new favorite place, well worth the drive about a half hour away. We can’t wait to go back and try an entree."

"The Pros: 1. Their crust is thin and fairly crispy. Not burnt... like some "New Haven style" places. 2. The renovations look nice. It has a somewhat upscale atmosphere compared to most pizza places. The Cons: 1. The pizzas only come in one size.....very small. And considering that it's only a 12" pizza.....they're pretty expensive. 2. The overall flavor of the pizzas / toppings was good.....but not great. 3. The renovations may have upscaled the look, but the open floor plan, the close seating, and reflective wooden floors and surfaces make for kind of a noisy meal. Also......very surprised they didn't showcase the wood fired oven out front. I guess we'll have to take their word for it. 4. They have a bar area and they do serve Wine / Beer ......but no liquor."

"Rather it’s take out or dine in, I am super pleased with each slice. This is one of my favorites places to go to especially when I come up to visit. Perfect place to enjoy great food."

"I have been a fan of this place from their previous time being open, and HAVEN does not disappoint. The pizza is as good of a pie you will find in CT, and that’s saying a lot. It is as good as I recall years ago. The re-model is nice as well and a great atmosphere. Order the Margherita and thank me later. I also recommend the Sweet & Spicy, it’s delicious. Can’t wait to go back!"

"As big fans of Pizzeria Napoletana, we were beyond excited when we learned that it was reopening as “Haven” from the son of the original owners. They did some remodeling since we had last been in there, and it looked really nice! The wings and pizza were just as we remembered them. For now they’re only offering small pizzas as they adjust to being open again, but will be offering larges soon. The crust was thin and crispy, and each pizza was delicious. I especially liked the asparagus and onion which I don’t remember being on their previous menu! There were quite a few non-pizza menu items that I’d like to come back and try. The mozzarella in the fried mozzarella was so fresh, and the baked wings were crispy with plenty of meat on the bones. They were super busy tonight and had a few kinks to work out in terms of the service, but I’m sure that will improve as they go and the staff was very sweet and accommodating. I’m so, so happy to have this spot back!!"
