Reviews of Sandfly bay
"Amazing experience to see the wildlife such as sea lions and their babies by the rocks and by the beach. The way back can be tough, as you need to walk through the sand dunes. But it's worthy after all."
"We came over before sunset and stayed a bit after sunset. Saw a few sea lions resting on the bay and after sunset, 3 yellow eyed penguins from afar. There was a staff from department of conservation there who guided us well on the distancing rules when you spot the animals and told us many interesting facts about them. Try to stay 10m away from sleeping sea lions and 20m from standing ones. I think it was 100m or more from the penguins as they are more shy, and may not come ashore if they spot humans. The ending slopes to the bay from the carpark are steep and sandy, be careful at those areas."
"Beautiful place ,took the kids ,saw seals and one young yellow penguin on the beach a real treasure, but some people need to read warning signs and keep off marked sand dunes as these are penguin and animal habitats which need to be looked after for our future or these sighting will get even rarer."
"A nice place. Long walk down and up sand dunes and not guaranteed to see any wildlife. We saw one seal, and one penguin through the binoculars, about 300 meters off."
