Te Kura o Kimi Ora

Welcome to Te Kura o Kimi Ora, a primary school located in Hastings, New Zealand. Our institution, situated at Boston Crescent, is not just an ordinary school but a point of interest and establishment that offers a unique learning experience for your child.

At Te Kura o Kimi Ora, we take pride in presenting Ngā Waka o te Moana Nui a Kiwa to our students. When enrolling your child with us, they will become a part of a waka, symbolizing their journey of learning. Our aim is to delve into the rich history of Polynesian Navigators and their remarkable waka, exploring the knowledge and skills used to navigate the vast oceans of the past.

Our motto, "Titiro whakamuri, kia anga whakamua" emphasizes the importance of looking to the past in order to move forward. As a staff, we plan school-wide events that align with the New Zealand Curriculum, where each waka participates and earns points. At the end of the year, the waka with the highest points is crowned the champion, and the kaihoe (paddlers) of that waka get to participate in a special Day for Champs!

We value the involvement of our whānau (family) in our school events and may call upon you to be part of the judging panel. If you would like to contribute in this way, please let us know!
