Pan Pac Eskdale MTB Park
About the Business
Welcome to Pan Pac Eskdale MTB Park! Located in Eskdale, on State Highway 2, our park is a must-visit destination for all mountain biking enthusiasts in New Zealand.
Pan Pac Eskdale MTB Park is managed by the Hawke's Bay Mountain Bike Club (HBMTBC), which was established in 1991. Since then, the club has gained full-time access to the privately owned Pan Pac Tangoio Forest and has become one of New Zealand's largest cycling clubs, with approximately 2200 members.
Our park covers approximately 530 hectares of private forestry and currently offers around 44 kilometers of trails. These trails are renowned internationally and attract riders from all over the world. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider, you will find trails that suit your skill level and provide an exhilarating experience.
However, due to recent weather events, the park has been temporarily closed. The extensive network of trails has been impacted by land slips and fallen trees, making them currently inaccessible. Nevertheless, the HBMTBC is determined to restore the park to its former glory and get our passionate mountain biking community back on their bikes.
To achieve this, we are seeking support from individuals and organizations who share our love for mountain biking. Any contribution, whether it be through funding or volunteering, will greatly help in the rebuilding process. We are confident that with the support of our dedicated volunteers and professional track builders, we can restore the trails and provide the joy and excitement that mountain biking brings.
We appreciate any support you can offer and look forward to the day when you can visit HB and ride the trails that you have helped to rebuild. Please note that Tinker Road is permanently out-of-bounds for safety reasons.
For more information or to offer your support, please contact HBMTBC at P.O. Box 702, Napier 4140. Thank you for your understanding and support. We can't wait to welcome you back to Pan Pac Eskdale MTB Park!

Reviews
"The new carpark about 200m north of the old one is brilliant. Will be even better once the one way system is up and working. No more having to squeeze past people's carriers along a narrow track. Good stuff"
"Great rides here many tracks. Mixed levels for beginners to advanced."
"Amazing trails, surprisingly technical at times. Must try but be warned."
"A good park over all with trails ranging from easy to black Diamond. but the park could do with some upgrades and modifications. Plus many tracks are closed at the moment. Well worth a visit and I ride there often. A pass is required to enter the forest. See the Hawkes Bay Mountain Bike Club for details and were to by annual and casual passes."
"Great park, $10 for a 3 week visitor permit, my 8 and 10 year olds like it too, great signage, great challenges, well maintained tracks, amazing ocean views from the top, hear the birds chirping and the frogs croaking, nice carpark at entrance, take plenty of water in this heat!"
