Robert Harris Cafe
About the Business
Welcome to Robert Harris Cafe, located at 555 Colombo Street in Christchurch, New Zealand. As a renowned establishment in the cafe industry, we pride ourselves on delivering the ultimate coffee experience.
At Robert Harris Cafe, we understand that a well-pulled shot of espresso is the result of dedication and expertise. It is the ultimate achievement for all those involved in its production. Our skilled baristas meticulously craft each cup, ensuring the perfect balance of flavor and aroma.
For those who appreciate a more hands-on approach to coffee brewing, we offer the Plunger, also known as the French Press. This method separates spent grounds from brewed coffee by pressing them to the bottom with a mesh plunger, resulting in a rich and full-bodied cup.
Science and art intersect at our cafe, particularly when it comes to foam. We believe that big, bubbly foam may be full of hot air, but it lacks flavor. On the other hand, fine, tight-celled foam offers a velvety texture and a creamy taste that elevates your coffee experience.
If you prefer the traditional stove-top or electric brewing method, you'll love our moka pot. This unique coffee maker brews coffee by passing boiling water pressurized by steam through ground coffee, resulting in a strong and flavorful cup.
For those who appreciate the beauty of simplicity, we offer the Chemex Coffeemaker. This manual, pour-over style glass-container coffeemaker allows you to savor the purest flavors of coffee, ensuring a clean and smooth taste.
At Robert Harris Cafe, we understand the importance of the grind in achieving the perfect cup of coffee. That's why we offer various types of coffee grinds, such as "plunger grind" and "espresso grind," named after the equipment used to brew them. This attention to detail ensures that every cup is tailored to your preferences.
Whether you're looking for a place to catch up with friends over coffee or seeking the first name to bring craft coffee to the people, Robert Harris Cafe is the perfect destination. Join us for an exceptional coffee experience that will leave you craving for more.

"Rh is a great place to have a coffee by the mall. Prompt service with a smile. I ordered a flat white, but it was a little fluffy on top. They ask if you want single shot or double shot, that is good. Jesus loves you!"
"0star. The rudest customer service ever. My partner is collecting stamps from Robert Harris because he and I really like their coffee. We've bought coffee and got free coffee from South City and other branches before. But the owner from South City (I couldn't believe he's the owner) said, "You get free coffee only from us and never bought it from us. It's not fair. These free coffees are 16bucks, but we get nothing. Don't come back again!" We couldn't believe what he said. He was argumentative and rude. If he thought it's not fair, he should've complained about it to his company, not to us. We didn't break the rules. We just wanted to enjoy their coffee. We never thought we would be treated like this by our favourite coffee shop. We're going to share this terrible experience with everyone around us. Cheers."
"Met up with the Heart Foundation lady for a cuppa and chat. Don't drink coffee but had one and it was very nice. The lady that served us was very polite and delivered our drinks very quickly. I didn't focus on the "atmosphere" but we could talk to each other quite easily. Did not have any food either, but it did look good."
"Experience prompt, dependable service paired with consistently delightful soy lattes. An ideal location to relax after shopping, indulging in the perfect cup of coffee to enhance your shopping spree."
"Arrived at R.H. Cafe at 1030 on a Wednesday for some brunch with my partner and family friends. I ordered the big breakfast. Portion size was ok, Scrambled eggs were average, lacked flavour. The best thing on thw plate was the hash browns and tomato chutney sauce. Baked beans was different & a nice addition to a big breakfast. Mushrooms were pretty average too. Unfortunately my meal came out warm then turned cold. If I go back I don't think I'll get this again. My Recommendation would be to serve the food hot, and work on adding more flavour to the meal. Atmosphere got a 2 As there were a number of flies around our seating area. Flies are the last thing you want when trying to enjoy a meal."
