"Great atmosphere, nice location, great camp vibe. HM Rage uses it for their Kings birthday weekend event."
"I've just returned from a school camp with Albany Junior High School for the dates 19-21st July and wanted to give both positive and constructive feedback to the camp owners. First the positive: Beautiful surroundings, location and plenty of activities for the children to be getting on with for the two days, the kids enjoyed themselves. Negatives: A number of children got ill, either when there or when they got home (my son). The main cause of this is that the facilities are geared for the summer not the winter months. Sleeping cabins have no or limited heating - our cabin, had a heated wall panel and it did not work. The main eating areas and lounge above the eating area had no heating facilities, meaning that the children/adults had no central location to keep warm (or warm up) or to dry themselves in adverse weather (common in the winter). Many children then were off school or reported to be ill because they had colds and fevers, largely due to the facilities not having sufficient dry heated areas. I slept in a cabin with condensation running down the solid concrete wall next my my sleeping bag - simply, they are dated and need modernising with modern insulation and ventilation. Another item I wanted to mention, please can someone do an audit of the equipment that is to be used for all the activities. I did not do everything, as it wasn't possible. Archery: of the 12 arrows, only 4 were usable the rest were broken and need to be replaced. Axe Throwing: the Axes need to have new handles on them, they are splitting. Bubble Sports: Many of the 'bubbles' deflated quite quickly and needed to be pumped up, they need to be repaired or replaced. Other activities were fine. The main issue, is that the eating area has no heating at all and there was no location that you could take the children or adult helpers if there was inclement or cold weather, to warm themselves up and keep dry - thus preventing cold/fevers and one child was throwing up. If the accommodation could be improved with a central 'warm area' then I would improve the rating."
"Awesome experience for the kids and they really enjoyed their time there"
"Recently I attended the elite youth camp and was part of the referees to officiate the rugby 7s. The facilities were amazing and the stuff were brilliant. Great service and our room was really tidy and suitable for three of us. My two always talked about that was their favourite long weekend away and will definitely coming back soon."
"Absolutely incredible place. I’ve been coming here pretty regularly for almost three years now and I could not recommend it enough. Hot springs pool, river activities, abseiling, frisbee golf course, rugby field, indoor gymnasium, zip line (flying fox), clean facilities and really great staff. Couldn’t ask for anything more, and I will continue to come here for as long as I can."
