Busy Bees Putaruru

Busy Bees Putāruru is an establishment and point of interest located on Buckland Street in Putāruru, New Zealand. We are proud to provide excellent care and education for children aged 0-6 years within our local community. Our main goal is to create an environment where our tamariki (children) and whānau (family) feel a sense of belonging and everyone feels welcome.

We are incredibly grateful for our spacious indoor and outdoor spaces, which allow our tamariki to stay active and engaged. These areas provide the perfect environment for our children to be children - to run, bike ride, laugh, and play. When you arrive at our center, you'll often hear the sounds of laughter, singing, and happy giggles as the children enjoy being busy throughout the day.

At Busy Bees Putāruru, we see each child as a unique individual. Our passionate kaiako (teachers) work closely with each age group in dedicated environments suited to their specific needs. In our Kakano room, our competent teachers provide plenty of aroha (love) and awhi (support) in a nurturing and loving environment for children under 2 years old. Our curious 2-year-olds have a spacious and warm indoor environment to explore, while our outdoor area for children over 2 years old allows plenty of active space for play, bike riding, and exploration of papatuanuku (the earth).

We are committed to providing excellent education and care services, and we strive to promote the development and learning of each child through positive partnerships and open communication with family, tangata whenua (people of the land), whānau, and the community.

In addition to our focus on education and care, we also prioritize providing nourishing meals for the children at our center. Our in-house chef prepares a wide variety of meals using fresh, real, and wholesome ingredients. We avoid recipes that are high in added sugar and focus on minimally processed foods. From time to time, we also engage the children in baking activities, which not only teach them food preparation skills but also provide a hands-on sensory experience for them to develop independence and practice simple math concepts.

We are proud to follow the aspirations of the New Zealand National ECE Curriculum, Te Whāriki. This curriculum emphasizes the partnership between kaiako, parents, whānau, and the community to empower children as lifelong learners. We believe that the first five years of a child's life are incredibly significant and influential, and our goal is to provide a curriculum that supports their growth and development during this crucial stage.
