Central Kids Glenshea Kindergarten

Welcome to Central Kids Glenshea Kindergarten, a small and nurturing establishment located in the Raukawa iwi area, in the picturesque town of Putaruru, New Zealand. Our kindergarten is a point of interest for families seeking a supportive and enriching learning environment for their children.

At Central Kids Glenshea, we prioritize the individual learning journey of each child, their families (whānau), and our dedicated teachers (kaiako). We believe in allowing children to learn at their own pace, in their own time (A tōna wā). Our goal is to foster a sense of independence and problem-solving skills among our tamariki (children) as they engage in child-initiated play within our inviting and well-resourced environment.

Our inclusive atmosphere extends to our whānau, who are encouraged to actively participate in their child's learning experience. We provide a neutral and friendly space where parents can stay with their child, meet other parents, and have meaningful conversations with our experienced kaiako.

The majority of our whānau hear about us through positive word-of-mouth within the wider community. We take great pride in the reputation we have built within Putaruru and strive to maintain the highest standards of early childhood education.

In addition to our regular kindergarten program, we offer a unique experience called Kōhanga Ngahere. This program allows our eight eldest tamariki to venture into the nearby bush at Jim Barnett Reserve every week. They have the opportunity to climb higher, explore, imagine, observe, listen, and develop resilience. Through this outdoor adventure, they also learn to wonder, test boundaries, take responsible risks, forge new friendships, and develop a deep respect for Papatūānuku (Mother Earth).

Our fees, after government entitlements, are affordable at $5.00 per hour, ensuring that quality early childhood education is accessible to all families.

We value our connection with the wider community and believe in fostering strong relationships with other early learning centers. Through these connections, we strive to create a supportive network for our tamariki and their families.
