Central Kids Rawhiti Kindergarten

Welcome to Central Kids Rāwhiti Kindergarten, located at Konini Place in Matamata, New Zealand. We are a well-established kindergarten that has been serving second and third generation families for many years. At Central Kids Rāwhiti, relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We strive to create a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment that fosters a sense of belonging for all.

We strongly believe in the partnership between kindergarten and families, and we welcome parent participation. We value the input and involvement of parents in their child's education and development. Our goal is to create a sense of whanaungatanga (family-like connections) and connectedness among the children, whānau (extended family), teachers, and the wider Matamata community.

Our kindergarten boasts a spacious and open indoor space that allows children the freedom to move and explore. This supports our strong music and movement program, which encourages children to express themselves creatively. Outside, we have various areas for climbing, sliding, swinging, and balancing, as well as a large grassed space for running and playing physical games. We also have a tranquil native garden area with a 45-year-old Kauri tree and a worm farm. We are proud to be a part of the Enviroschools program and have a strong focus on sustainability for both children and families.

Central Kids Rāwhiti is extremely well-resourced, providing a wide range of experiences that nurture the development of self-expression, self-esteem, confidence, independence, experimentation, exploration, peaceful conflict resolution, numeracy and literacy skills, problem-solving abilities, and a sense of fun.

Our fees after government entitlements are affordable at $5.00 per hour, ensuring that quality early childhood education is accessible to all families.

We also have strong community connections, such as our partnership with the Tokoroa Early Learning Centre and the support we have received from the Pelorus Trust for new blinds at Tūrangi Kindergarten. Additionally, our Kihikihi Kindergarten is proud to be growing a generation of gardeners!

We operate from Monday to Friday during term time, with breaks during school holidays.
