Central Kids Mill Crescent Kindergarten

Welcome to Central Kids Mill Crescent Kindergarten, a vibrant and inclusive establishment located in Matamata, New Zealand. Our kindergarten offers a wide range of exciting outdoor activities and learning opportunities for children aged 2 to 6 years old.

At Central Kids Mill Crescent, children have access to a spacious outdoor playground featuring a central grass area. They can explore and engage in various play experiences, such as loose parts, water play, climbing boxes, swings, a slide, mudpit, whare taakaro, and a big sandpit with a water feature. Our outdoor environment encourages children to immerse themselves in play, challenge themselves, take risks, and develop confidence.

In addition to a stimulating play area, we also have an interactive bird aviary, a fish tank, and a worm farm. These provide valuable learning experiences for children to understand and care for different animals. We foster curiosity and kindness towards all living things.

Our kindergarten boasts extensive grounds filled with trees, native plants, and a vegetable garden. We also have herbs, flowers, and fruit, which the children can explore and learn from. As part of the Enviroschools program, we have recently achieved our bronze certificate, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and respect for Papatūānuku, the Earth Mother.

Central Kids Mill Crescent is well-equipped to cater to the needs of children at different stages of development. We have facilities for nappy changing and assisting children with their transition from nappies to using the toilet. For those who need rest or sleep, we provide comfortable beds. Every child is given the opportunity to choose their own key teacher, ensuring a secure attachment and fostering positive relationships.

We also offer exciting walking excursions to Firth Primary School and spontaneous walks to the college next door, where children can enjoy the large grass area and observe the trains passing by through our back fence. These experiences broaden their horizons and add to their sense of wonder and exploration.

Our fees after government entitlements are affordable at $5.00 per hour, making quality early childhood education accessible to families in our community.

Central Kids Mill Crescent is proud to be part of the wider community, and we value our connections with other early learning centers. We are grateful to the Pelorus Trust for their support in providing new blinds at Tūrangi Kindergarten. Additionally, we are nurturing a generation of gardeners at Kihikihi Kindergarten.

We operate from Monday to Friday during term breaks, offering a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of families.
