Nestled within the fast-growing Selwyn District, Darfield is a small town with a population of around 2000 people. It is conveniently located just 35 kilometers from Christchurch, making it an easy commute for those working in the city. In fact, it only takes 20 minutes to reach the outskirts of Christchurch from Darfield.

Darfield itself offers a range of amenities, including a 4 Square Supermarket, pubs, restaurants, a post office, trendy cafes, a bakery, and various shops. The bustling main street is always lively during the day. For added convenience, we have a Big Red Bus service that operates on weekdays, providing transportation to and from Darfield.

Our hostel is situated on North Terrace, adjacent to the main street, making it just a short walk away from all the local amenities. The 8 single bedrooms are well-equipped with a single bed, wardrobe, drawers, and a desk. Linen is provided for your convenience. We have made an effort to create a homely atmosphere in the communal areas, including a cozy log fire in the lounge.

Accommodation Darfield is ideal for single working residents, as the rooms are on the smaller side. However, we welcome both long and short term stays. The weekly rate of $170 covers your room, power, internet, and nationwide calls. To secure your room, we require a 2-week advance rental payment and a $50 non-refundable room deposit.

Our building is well-insulated, ensuring a comfortable temperature throughout the year. The bedrooms are heated by electric heaters with thermostats, while the communal living room features a log fire with free firewood. We also provide ample fridge space, with 2 fridge/freezers and separate refrigerators available. Each resident has their own allocated area for food storage.

Rest assured, there is a nearby manager who can assist with any simple problems that may arise during your stay. We also offer a range of recreational activities, including D.O.C. walks in Oxford and Arthurs Pass areas. Additionally, there are numerous clubs, groups, and societies to join, including an Art Gallery.
