Cancer Society of New Zealand - Waikato/BOP Division
About the Business
Welcome to the Cancer Society of New Zealand - Waikato/BOP Division, located at Grey Street in Hamilton, New Zealand. As an establishment and point of interest, our institution is dedicated to providing support and resources for individuals affected by cancer.
At the Cancer Society, we understand the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis, whether it has spread to the bones, brain, liver, lungs, or is of unknown primary. That's why we offer a wide range of services and information to help you navigate your cancer journey.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has already supported us in our mission. With your continued support, we can ensure that your loved one's story continues to inspire others. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to support your page and together, we can raise funds to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
Recently, we were pleased to hear the announcement by the National Party that, if elected, they will fund 13 vital cancer treatments. However, we hope that the funding will also extend to the necessary infrastructure to support this move, as it is crucial in providing comprehensive care for cancer patients.
One of our biggest fundraising events of the year is Daffodil Day, which takes place on Friday, August 25th. On this day, 8000 dedicated volunteers will hit the streets across the country to collect funds that will enable us to continue our work. With your support, no one will have to face cancer alone.
We are also aware of the challenges that cancer survivors face after completing their treatment. Research conducted by the University of Otago has shown that many survivors deal with psycho-social and physical issues, yet support for them is limited. That's why we are committed to providing ongoing support and resources to help survivors navigate these challenges.
We are thrilled to announce that Hei Āhuru Mōwai (Māori Cancer Leadership Aotearoa) and Te Kāhui Matepukupuku o Aotearoa (the Cancer Society of New Zealand) are now accepting applications for the third annual round of the Māori Cancer Researcher Awards. This initiative aims to support and empower Māori researchers in their efforts to advance cancer research.
At the Cancer Society, we believe in the power of humor and hope in facing cancer. We strive to create a positive and supportive environment for all those affected, as we truly believe that together, we can change the world one head of hair at a time. We want you to know that despite the changes that cancer may bring, you are still you, only stronger and better.
If you are interested in getting involved or supporting the Cancer Society of New Zealand - Waikato/BOP Division, we encourage you to explore our website and find out how you can make a difference. Together, we can support those affected by cancer and ensure that no one faces this journey alone.
