"Stayed at the shared room for 2 nights. For the higher-than-usual price I expected a more-than-decent room. However, room was small and cramp. There was this 2 old people who seem to have been staying there like forever and the entire room smells like them, whom I observed to not shower at all. The younger people were cool though. Definitely thankful that I still have a roof over my head for 2 nights so it still deserves a 2-star."
"The single room was tiny, smaller than a prison cell I am told (I have never been to prison). No room for a chair, a wardrobe or anything. No visitors allowed. You open up the door and it hits the bed. Road noise is bad if you open the window, but there is a heat pump in every room. The one staff person was satisfactory, not particularly going out of her way to be kind, guess she gets a lot of negative reports. Would not recommend."
"I've got room on the top floor at the back of the hotel. I'm really impressed by the ability of the owner in putting all amenities to fit in this room. All you need is right there at once. My double bed is a little bit smaller than I thought but it's OK. The shower and bathub are nice. TV, fridge, and microwave oven work well. Parking space is quite sufficient both in front, on the left side, and at the back. Located on Victoria street where there are shops and restaurants. All in all, this is one of good hotels in Hamilton."
"I have been here 2 nights in a dorm. I was alone in the dorm both nights. Therefore it was always quite. The room was nice and cozy. Everything was clean. The shower was super nice even though it was really small (not the height). The kitchen was also a little small and could use some improvements but there was everything you needed. It wasn't the cleanest kitchen but definitely clean enough to use. I have no idea how things change there when it's full house but I would definitely go back here if I should ever visit Hamilton as a backpacker again. (It is also in a pretty good location I explored Hamilton by foot and had no problem!)"
"Our room was an actual joke. It was a cheap deal but you get what you pay for. The room was the size of the bed, literally, there was no room at all. My partner and I could barely even pass each other, and we're not very big people.. There were hairs (five or so) on my pillow and the linen didn't smell nice, although wasn't physically dirty. There was a fan which was an absolute god send / necessity but it made the noise of a lawnmower. There was no lamp, just the main overhead light. There were no shelves or hooks in the shower/shower room so where are you supposed to hang your towel?? And the shower didn't drain well either, I had to stop mid shower to allow the water to drain. There were two dispensers in the shower that you would presume to have shower gel in but both were empty. The kitchen facilities seemed fair, we didn't really use it but did notice there was no drying racks to put your washing up onto.. other than that it seemed alright.. the lady at reception was friendly and welcoming, if it wasn't for her I would have given it only one star.. there are other rooms available which might obviously be more suitable but can only go on our experience."
