Having worked for the Canterbury District Health Board (Te Whatu Ora) at Hillmorton Hospital for four years, we have gained invaluable experience in the field. Since the beginning of 2022, we have transitioned into private practice, allowing us to dedicate our time and attention to each client's unique needs.

At Carrell Psychology, we have a particular interest in helping adults dealing with anxiety, low mood, and trauma-related issues. Utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, we are adept at treating difficulties associated with trauma, allowing our clients to heal and move forward in their lives.

Our client-centered approach to therapy sets us apart. We prioritize creating a safe and compassionate therapeutic space where our clients can freely express themselves, learn new coping skills, and overcome their difficulties. We firmly believe in empowering individuals on their journey to mental well-being.

In addition to our expertise in anxiety, low mood, and trauma, we have significant experience supporting individuals with psychosis, eating disorders, and grief-related difficulties. However, we regret to inform you that we are not currently offering ADHD assessments.

As an ACC accredited institution, we provide psychological services to those who have experienced mental injury and are seeking assistance with the ACC process. Our dedication to helping individuals recover and thrive is unwavering.
