"I have always thought this bakery to be above average. I just got home after buying a steak pie. I never throw away food but this pie was truly disgusting. Just jelly and a cpl lumps of meat, definitely would never buy one of those again."

"Classic institution. Selection and range is really broad. Quality is excellent and everything is good value. It's pretty puzzling how difficult it is to get a decent sandwich in Christchurch, and I find myself detouring to drive past Sydenham Bakery. A lot of cafes could learn from a visit, whenever I see ciabattas or weird arty stacked things for $10+ it's enough to make me want to bang my head on the fridge glass repeatedly. Ka pai to mahi gang."
