As a specialist periodontist, Dr Douglas Waters brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our practice. With a BDS, Dip. Clin. Dent, MDs, and a Dip. Mgt., all earned from prestigious universities such as Otago and Auckland, Dr Waters is dedicated to providing exceptional dental implant and periodontal care in Takapuna, Auckland.

Dr Waters began his career in general practice in New Zealand and England, where he received his initial training in implant placement in 1988. He is a member of esteemed organizations such as the American Academy of Periodontology, the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, and the New Zealand Dental Association. Dr Waters also served as the president of the New Zealand Society of Periodontics.

As the Director of North Shore Periodontics since 2000, Dr Waters offers a comprehensive range of periodontal services, including dental implants, treatment and prevention of periodontal diseases, cosmetic periodontal surgery, grafting of soft and hard tissues, and crown lengthening. Our practice proudly utilizes top-quality implant systems, such as Nobel Biocare, 3i, Straumann (ITI), and AstraTech.

Joining Dr Waters is Specialist Periodontist Dawn, who arrived in New Zealand from Singapore at the age of 16. After completing her BDS at Otago University in 1999, Dawn pursued further specialization, earning an MDS in Periodontology in 2005. With a particular interest in periodontal plastic surgery and implantology, Dawn has worked in specialist periodontal practices in both Auckland and Wellington. She is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and a member of the New Zealandn and New Zealand Association of Periodontology.

At North Shore Periodontics, we are proud to have Angela, a highly experienced registered dental hygienist, as a valuable member of our team. With extensive knowledge in treating periodontal disease, Angela's meticulous nature and caring approach set her apart in the industry. Her focus on client comfort and her ability to administer local anesthesia if required ensure a pleasant experience for all patients. Angela is a member of the New Zealand Dental Hygienist's Association and is committed to continuing education in dental hygiene practices.

We are also delighted to introduce Lily, a dual-qualified dental hygienist and dental therapist. Graduating from the University of Otago in 2017, Lily has gained extensive experience in general dental, specialist periodontal, and specialist maxillofacial/oral surgery clinics. Her passion for oral health and dedication to delivering the highest quality care shines through in her thorough clinical skills and warm, caring manner. Lily is fluent in both English and Mandarin and is a member of the New Zealand Oral Health Association.
