Whangaparaoa Playcentre

Welcome to Whangaparaoa Playcentre, located at 41 Stanmore Bay Road in Whangaparāoa, New Zealand. As an establishment, point of interest, and school, we are proud to offer a unique learning experience for tamariki (children) in a stunning setting with breathtaking views of the harbor.

Our outdoor area boasts a diverse terrain that allows children to explore and learn in a natural environment. From a spacious shaded sandpit, swings, and a climbing fort, to rolling hills and a bountiful vegetable garden, our outdoor space encourages outdoor play and hands-on learning.

Inside, our large, light-filled indoor space caters to the interests and needs of children of all ages, from babies to five-year-olds. We have a quiet baby room and dedicated area, a library, music and blocks corner, as well as areas for collage and playdough exploration. Additionally, our spacious kitchen provides opportunities for children to learn about food and nutrition.

At Whangaparaoa Playcentre, we pride ourselves on fostering a welcoming family atmosphere. Our dedicated whānau (family) and happy tamariki are supported to follow their interests and learn in a stimulating environment aligned with Te Whariki, the New Zealand early childhood curriculum.

Through play, participation, and positive guidance, our tamariki develop into confident, competent self-directed learners. Each day at Playcentre is filled with new and exciting experiences, nurturing our children's curiosity and creativity.

One of the unique aspects of our Playcentre is the opportunity for siblings to attend together. This allows older children to mentor and care for younger ones, fostering nurturing and social skills with lifelong benefits.

Our parental relationships developed through Playcentre provide support and the opportunity to develop new parenting and life skills. Whānau actively participate in providing our children's learning programs, and the high adult-to-child ratio ensures a balance between group and individual support during each session.

Whangaparaoa Playcentre is truly one-of-a-kind. There is no other organization for early childhood education and family development quite like it in the world. Thousands of kiwi children, and their parents too, have grown up with Playcentre, and we invite you to be a part of our vibrant community.

We are open from Monday to Friday, from 9.15 am to 11.45 am, and we welcome visitors to attend after arranging a day to visit.
