Stanley Bolton Violin Teaching Studio

Welcome to the Stanley Bolton Violin Teaching Studio, located in the beautiful coastal town of Whangaparāoa, New Zealand. As a highly experienced professional musician and violin teacher, I have dedicated many years to honing my craft and sharing my passion for music with students of all ages.

My journey in music began at Auckland University, where I studied under the guidance of esteemed violinist Sándor Végh. Thanks to a prestigious QEII Arts Council scholarship, I was able to further my studies in Germany and immerse myself in the rich tradition of European violin playing.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of performing with renowned orchestras such as the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in Canada and the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. Additionally, I have led the Sinfonietta Orchestra, now known as the Auckland Chamber Orchestra, and have enjoyed playing chamber music in smaller ensembles.

Teaching has always been a fundamental part of my life, and I have had the pleasure of instructing students privately as well as in primary and secondary schools in England. My teaching approach is rooted in the principles of natural movement and tone production, which I learned from the European masters Joachim, Ysaÿe, and Hubay through my mentor Sándor Végh.

At the Stanley Bolton Violin Teaching Studio, I strive to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment for my students. I believe in building strong relationships with my students, incorporating elements of fun and imagination into lessons to inspire their love for playing the violin and making music.
