Welcome to Playcentre Lower North Island Region, located in Wellington, New Zealand. As an establishment, point of interest, and school, we offer a unique early childhood education experience for children and their families. At Playcentre, parents and whānau (extended family) are the primary caregivers, creating a village where your whole family can connect and thrive.

With a high adult to child ratio, Playcentre provides a child-initiated program tailored to each individual child's strengths and interests. Whether you have a new baby or are new to the community, Playcentre offers a welcoming space for babies, young children, and parents to come together. Our members enjoy a strong sense of belonging, and friendships flourish in our supportive, fun, and friendly environment.

Playcentre is a nationwide charity with over 400 centers spread throughout the country. At each center, you'll find a community where you and your child can grow together. Watch your child's confidence soar as they explore and foster their imagination through play and interaction with children aged 0-6.

From building sandcastles to baking biscuits, painting to singing, working with wood to cutting shapes in playdough, every session at Playcentre will captivate and excite your child. Get involved in your child's learning by playing and learning alongside them. While your child interacts with others, you'll have the opportunity to meet other parents and educators, becoming part of a fun, vibrant community where community and a sense of belonging are at the heart of everything we do.

Join us for our Messy Play Week, where families with children aged 0-6 can explore a variety of messy play offerings, from paint and playdough to sand and clay.

At Playcentre, we welcome children from age 0-6, and infants are welcome to attend most sessions and participate in regular activities. We also offer specialized sessions focusing on the needs of newborns to 1-year-olds, providing support and friendship to new parents.
