Through play, which is based on their interests, our tamariki become confident, competent, and self-directed learners. They gain knowledge through active participation and positive guidance.

Our centre is proud to be multicultural, and we place a strong emphasis on the values of whanaungatanga (family connections) and kotahitanga (unity). We celebrate diversity and provide a range of fun experiences to nurture the curiosity and creativity of our tamariki. No two days at Playcentre are the same!

One of the unique aspects of our centre is that children of all ages, from birth to school age, attend together. This allows for older children to mentor younger ones, fostering empathy and caring. Our tamariki develop nurturing and social skills that have lifelong benefits.

Parents and other whānau (extended family) share the responsibilities of running our centre and actively contribute to providing learning programs for our tamariki. With a high adult to child ratio, we ensure a good balance between group and individual support during each session. The relationships developed through Playcentre provide support with parenting and help us develop new parenting and life skills. Parents also have the opportunity to participate in the free Playcentre education program, enhancing their parenting skills and knowledge about child development.
