Our team consists of award-winning psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, a clinical neuropsychologist, social scientists, behavior change researchers, nurses, and service user academics. We also have a Clinical Senior Lecturer team comprising clinicians from four District Health Boards: Hutt Valley, Capital and Coast, Midcentral, and Hawkes Bay.

With an extensive research program focused on mental health practice in Aotearoa New Zealand, our academics are committed to addressing crucial themes in the field. These themes encompass a wide range of topics relevant to mental health, ensuring that our research remains comprehensive and impactful.

We take great pride in our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs. Undergraduate medical students at the University of Otago, Wellington receive comprehensive mental health education throughout their three clinical years. Furthermore, we offer a diverse range of postgraduate courses, including a seminar series designed for doctors pursuing psychiatry training to become fellows of RANZCP (registrars).
