Te Kotuku Ki Te Rangi Trust
About the Business
Welcome to Te Kotuku Ki Te Rangi Trust, a kaupapa Māori mental health provider located in Auckland, New Zealand. Situated at 40 Copsey Place, our institution is dedicated to offering innovative residential, respite, and community support services and programs for Tāngata Whaiora, individuals seeking mental health treatment.
Since our establishment in 2001, our primary goal has been to facilitate successful healing and recovery for Tāngata Whaiora, regardless of their cultural background. We firmly believe that Tāngata Whaiora are of utmost importance, and we are committed to providing them with exceptional support and care services. Our team consists of 31 dedicated kaimahi who operate under the principles of kaupapa Māori philosophy.
At Te Kotuku Ki Te Rangi, we offer a wide range of kaupapa Māori services tailored to the individual and group needs of Tāngata Whaiora. These services are delivered in the community, ensuring that our support is easily accessible and convenient. Additionally, we provide 24/7 residential care and support, as well as planned respite for those in need.
As part of our commitment to promoting holistic well-being, we host various kaupapa Māori programs for Tāngata Whaiora and like-minded individuals. One of these programs is Hākinakina, a two-hour weekly program focused on physical exercise and fitness, aimed at improving the physical well-being of Tāngata Whaiora. We believe in the importance of a healthy body for a healthy mind.
Furthermore, we organize special outings and activities to foster a sense of community and connection. For example, Tāngata Whaiora and Kaimahi recently enjoyed a day at the Parakai Hot Pools, filled with fun and bonding experiences. We also actively engage with the community, as our kaimahi walked the streets of the CBD to distribute COVID-19 information packs to the homeless and promote awareness about the COVID-19 vaccine.
At Te Kotuku Ki Te Rangi Trust, we are dedicated to providing exceptional support, care, and programs to both Māori and Non-Māori individuals experiencing mental health disabilities. Our commitment to the principles of kaupapa Māori ensures that our services are culturally sensitive and inclusive. Join us on our journey towards healing and recovery, and let us support you on your path to well-being.
