Welcome to the Embassy of France in Wellington, New Zealand! Our institution is located at 20 Ballance Street, Wellington. As an embassy, we serve as a diplomatic representation of France in New Zealand and provide various services to French citizens and New Zealandn residents.
We are pleased to announce that the consular tour in Auckland will take place from Monday, October 16th to Thursday, October 19th, from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm. On Friday, October 20th, the tour will be available from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
If you are interested in joining our team, we currently have a full-time assistant position available at the General Secretariat of the Embassy of France in New Zealand. The starting date for this position is September 1st, 2023, and the application deadline is August 17th, 2023.
For those looking for educational opportunities, applications for the March 2024 school year are now open until October 22nd, 2023. This program is designed for students to explore a new region and culture by working with an English teacher in a French school environment. Please note that it is not intended for experienced teachers. It is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience.
We are delighted to welcome Mrs. Hélène TAYLOR as the new honorary consul in Queenstown. Her presence will further strengthen the ties between France and New Zealand.
In partnership with Te Whare Hēra Artist Residency, the Embassy of France in New Zealand has been offering a residency program for contemporary French artists in Wellington since 2016. This program provides a unique opportunity for artists to immerse themselves in the local artistic community.

Ridgeway School is currently seeking two enthusiastic teachers to teach students in the Ruru La Chouette class. This position can be either part-time or shared between two individuals.
The 12 senators representing French citizens living abroad are elected for a 6-year term, with half of the seats being renewed every 3 years. This ensures that the voices of French citizens living outside of France are represented in the Senate.

"One of the worst diplomatic service in the World we have experienced. As a French citizen, I have been trying to contact the consular service on the main number listed 03 384 2555 for months and at least several times daily and 3 to 4 times a week. Understanding that French people only work 35 hours/ week is one thing but if you are lucky enough to call during working hours of the morning, either you get a disconnected tone, or the line hang up as soon as you get a tone, or the phone simply does not answer at all. In the best case scenario, you will get an answering message, but you cannot actually leave a message. Your option is to call the emergency mobile number but they would not be happy if this is not an actual emergency."
