Welcome to Dean Greenwood Swim School, located in Auckland, New Zealand. Our swim school is a renowned establishment that has been providing top-quality swimming lessons since 1995.
One of the key advantages of our swim school is that all our pools are indoor and heated, ensuring a comfortable and consistent swimming experience throughout the year. We understand the importance of maintaining a warm and controlled environment for our swimmers, which is why we have invested in state-of-the-art facilities.
Conveniently situated in central Auckland, west Auckland, and the North Shore, our swim school offers multiple locations for you to choose from. Whether you reside in Mt Eden, Kelston, New Windsor, Massey, Sunnynook, or Northcote, we have a site near you. Simply click on your closest location to find out more.
Our swim school was founded by Dean Greenwood, a highly accomplished swim coach, in 1995. Even during the initial stages of setting up the swim school, Dean continued to produce top swimmers who represented New Zealand on the international stage. However, the demanding nature of managing both a swim school and a competitive program became unsustainable, leading Dean to focus solely on the development of our swim school.
Over the years, our swim school has witnessed tremendous growth and success. In 2004, we expanded our facilities with the addition of the Kelston site, followed by New Windsor in 2006 and Massey in 2013. In 2019, we further expanded our reach with the opening of Sunnynook and Northcote locations.
At Dean Greenwood Swim School, we take pride in offering comprehensive swimming lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our experienced and dedicated instructors are committed to providing personalized attention to each swimmer, ensuring they develop the necessary skills and confidence in the water.
Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics of swimming or an advanced swimmer aiming to enhance your technique, our swim school has a program tailored to meet your needs. We believe that swimming is not only a vital life skill but also an enjoyable and rewarding activity that promotes physical fitness and overall well-being.

Reviews
"Great school for kids to learn to swim and friendly staff"
"This is a great swimming school having programs for kids of all ages. The location is in the Northcote Primary School swimming pool. The pool is well maintained. The location is easily accessible by road and public transport. The staff and teachers are well experienced and very patient with kids. The facility to have make up sessions for any cancelled sessions is great and works really well."
"The teacher does not communicate with the kids, does not adjust their wrong techniques such as feet position. The number of students are more than they said."
"Excellent swim school. Northcote school pool is good for the kids, warm and shallow. Classes are small and often due to absences you end up with just a couple of kids in a class. Teachers are great, good energy, knowledgeable. The teaching system is very structured and well organised, they show you at each level what your child is working towards. And super flexible on make up lessons and absences. Can't recommend them highly enough."
"A great swim school. Very friendly and patient teachers and staff"
