Cancer Society of New Zealand
About the Business
Welcome to the Cancer Society of New Zealand, located in Wellington at The Terrace, 39. As an establishment and point of interest, our institution is dedicated to providing support and resources for those affected by cancer.
At the Cancer Society, we understand the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis, including when the disease has spread to other parts of the body such as the bones, brain, liver, and lungs. We also offer information and assistance for those facing cancer of unknown primary origin.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has already supported us in our mission. We encourage you to continue your loved one's story by inviting family and friends to support your page and raise funds for those affected by cancer.
We are pleased to announce that the National Party has pledged to fund 13 vital cancer treatments if elected. While we welcome this news, we hope that the funding will also extend to infrastructure to better support these treatments.
One of our biggest fundraising events is Daffodil Day, which will take place on Friday, August 25. On this day, 8000 volunteers will hit the streets across the country to collect funds that will help the Cancer Society continue its important work. With your support, no one will have to face cancer alone.
We are currently in full swing preparing for Daffodil Day and are excited to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
Research conducted by the University of Otago has shown that many cancer survivors face a range of psycho-social and physical issues after their treatment. Unfortunately, support for these survivors is limited. At the Cancer Society, we aim to bridge this gap and provide the necessary support for all cancer survivors.
We are proud to announce that Hei Āhuru Mōwai (Māori Cancer Leadership Aotearoa) and Te Kāhui Matepukupuku o Aotearoa (the Cancer Society of New Zealand) are opening applications for the third annual round of the Māori Cancer Researcher Awards. This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting and promoting research in the field of cancer.
Our motto is "I believe in a daily dose of humor and hope," and we strive to bring positivity and inspiration to those facing cancer. We believe in changing the world, one head of hair at a time, and we are dedicated to helping individuals embrace their changed selves for the better.
If you are interested in getting involved and supporting the Cancer Society, we encourage you to explore our website and find out how you can make a difference. Together, we can support those affected by cancer and work towards a future free from this devastating disease.
