In October 2018, we welcomed Julie Gifkins as our new Headmaster. With 14 years of experience in the Independent School sector, Julie has held leadership positions at prestigious schools in Auckland, including King's School and St Cuthbert's College.

Julie is a passionate advocate for Independent School education in New Zealand, holding a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership with Distinction, a Bachelor of Teaching, and a Diploma in Teaching. She is dedicated to creating a future-focused learning environment that is responsive and respectful to the needs of the St George's community.

Our goal is to encourage our students to dream big, be daring, and have the confidence to try new things and learn from their mistakes. We believe in embracing discovery, enabling our students to become great citizens who contribute to building caring and sustainable communities. Understanding that the younger generation, Gen A, has unique characteristics, we ensure our teaching methods are respectful and responsive to their needs.

Our curriculum is centered around the idea of Discovery, fostering a synergy between the Arts and STEM subjects while also developing social and business enterprise skills. This approach provides ample opportunities for creativity, innovation, risk-taking, and entrepreneurial endeavors.
