However, it is crucial to maintain effective control over your dog at all times to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.

Within the off-leash area, there are still a few places where you need to keep your dog on a lead. If your dog is within 50 meters of certain areas, such as playgrounds or picnic spots, it is necessary to use a chain, cord, or leash to maintain control. Additionally, if your dog is within 10 meters of any wildlife or livestock, the same rule applies.

We also prioritize cleanliness and hygiene in our park. We kindly ask all dog owners to carry something to pick up after their dogs. To assist you in this, we have conveniently placed dog bag dispensers around Lake Wendouree, ensuring a clean and enjoyable environment for everyone.

As responsible pet owners, we adhere to the guidelines set out in the Domestic Animals Act. To further promote responsible pet ownership, we have developed the Domestic Animal Management Plan 2017-21, which is renewed every four years. This plan ensures the well-being and safety of all dogs visiting our park.
