Laingholm and Districts Veterinary Service
About the Business
Welcome to Laingholm and Districts Veterinary Service, a trusted establishment located at 21 Victory Road, Laingholm, Auckland, New Zealand. As a point of interest and a veterinary care provider, we are committed to offering comprehensive services to meet all your pet's healthcare needs.
At our clinic, we provide a wide range of services to ensure the well-being of your furry friends. Our dedicated team of professionals is equipped to handle all aspects of veterinary care, including full medicine, surgery (qualified by MANZCVS examinations in companion animal surgery), isoflurane anesthesia, and radiology. We also offer after-hours emergency services, consultations, hospitalization, house calls (limited to cats), vaccinations, dental treatments, 'in-house' full laboratory blood testing, intravenous fluids, micro-chipping, cremations, desexing, select farm animal treatment, pet products, abdominal ultrasound scanning, histopathology, and more.
When you visit our clinic, you'll find convenient off-street parking available. However, please note that due to the angle of the driveway, we kindly ask you to only turn right into the clinic. Vans or vehicles with roof-racks must park on the road. For customers with faulty cars, parking on the road is recommended due to the steepness of the driveway at the top. We strive to ensure easy access for all our clients and regularly maintain the driveway to enhance safety.
To ensure prompt service, please press the doorbell upon arrival. Sometimes, we may not hear the door knocker, and we wouldn't want to miss seeing you. Our caring veterinary nursing staff is available to assist with surgeries, although their presence may not be guaranteed during medical consultations.
Please note that we do not provide quotes of costs over the phone. However, we are happy to provide estimates during consultations or prior to admission for procedures. A deposit is required before major surgical procedures. We aim to offer reasonable pricing and can usually match other quotes.
We accept payment via Eftpos, cash, or bank transfer on your mobile device during consultations. Please note that we do not accept credit cards. Additionally, we operate strictly on a deposit system for surgical procedures to ensure proper preparation and utilization of our theater facilities.
We are fully equipped to perform X-rays, surgeries, anesthesia, and blood tests at our clinic. All these procedures are conducted in-house, allowing for availability after-hours and on weekends. Recently, we have installed new isoflurane anesthesia equipment to enhance the safety and comfort of our patients.
When transporting your pets to the clinic, we recommend having your cat securely placed in a modern cage, supporting it underneath to prevent any accidents. For large dogs, they must be on a very short lead and accompanied by an adult. Small dogs should be carried into the clinic. If you have multiple large dogs, please bring them in one at a time, ensuring their safety and the smooth operation of our facilities.
For surgical procedures, we require that pets are picked up by the same owner who dropped them off. This ensures clear communication regarding post-operative care and provides legal protection for all parties involved.
We love and care for all pets that come through our doors. However, in light of recent events involving a New Zealand veterinarian, we have made the decision not to see aggressive large dogs or certain dog breeds unless they can be shown to be friendly. This decision aligns with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand's update in 2022, prioritizing the prevention of unreasonable or unnecessary pain or distress. If necessary, we will assist in referring you to a more suitable veterinarian.
Rest assured, we handle all pets with love and gentleness. Before any treatment or surgery, we will always seek your consent and ensure that you are fully informed about the procedures involved.
When it comes to the surgical principles for very small mammals, our vet has undergone additional postgraduate training in companion animal surgery. This means that your pets, regardless of their size, are in excellent hands under our care.
At Laingholm and Districts Veterinary Service, we are dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care with a focus on compassion, expertise, and the well-being of your beloved pets. Visit us today and experience the difference in our quality services.

"Andrew was extremely helpful when we needed him given the short notice. Our dog was sick and needed to be cared for. Andrew made time for us during a very difficult time and was incredibly thoughtful and kind. I felt grateful Andrew was there for us when we needed. I highly recommend. Thank you Andrew for your quick response and compassion."
"Dr. Andrew knew he was looking after my baby, not 'just a pet'. He was available when we needed and took action straight away, my little one is now 100%. Thank you for your work and prompt care."
"Yet again Andrew to the rescue !!!! A true Vet with all of the expertise and experience to help us through this difficult time with an elderly and ailing wee cat. Thank you for your understanding and kindness with our little miss Sophia on her final stretch... x"
"Andrew is always incredibly warm and lovely with our dog. We were turned away from many other vets despite our dog's ongoing condition, and Andrew agreed to see us at very short notice. We'd seen two other vets with no remedy prior to seeing Andrew, and he diagnosed the issue immediately. Our dog is also anxious around vets however Andrew's calm demenour always puts our dog at ease. Would 100% recommend Andrew if you are looking for a vet who cares."
"Thank you for taking care of our beagle! We were in such a panic when he ate the rubbish in the bathroom (there were some toxic products). I called about 8.30 at night and they told me to bring him asap. By 9 pm, we could take him home with us and everything was fine. They gave after care instructions which were very helpful, thank you again."
