Paparangi School

Welcome to Paparangi School, located in Wellington, New Zealand. Our school is a point of interest and a primary school, providing a quality education for children in the Paparangi/Newlands area. With our beautiful outdoor play spaces and gardens, we offer a unique learning environment that overlooks Seton Nossiter Park and Gully.

At Paparangi School, we have eleven classes and currently have just over 230 children enrolled, with our numbers steadily growing. We work closely with the local Kindergarten, Intermediate, and College to create a coherent pathway for learning in our community.

Our dedicated Board of Trustees and staff are committed to ensuring that our students are adventurous learners. We believe in the importance of perseverance and encourage our students to keep trying even when things are tricky. We strive to provide a quality education that prepares our students for the future.

In addition to our academic focus, we also value community involvement and support various initiatives. Recently, we participated in raising funds for the Cancer Society and encouraged our students to wear something yellow and bring a gold coin donation to support Daffodil Day.

We also organize events such as our Matariki celebration, where we invite parents and whānau to join us in celebrating the Māori New Year. This is a family event, and we encourage everyone to bring a breakfast picnic and dress warmly for the outdoor festivities.

Our school operates on a four-term system, with Term 1 running from January to April, Term 2 from April to June, Term 3 from July to September, and Term 4 from October to December. We also have Teacher Only Days throughout the year to ensure our staff receives the necessary professional development.
