With its prime location, Capital Hall is just a short distance away from various campuses. Kelburn, Pipitea, and Te Aro are all within easy reach, with travel times ranging from 10 to 15 minutes. This convenient proximity allows students to easily access their classes and explore the city.

Capital Hall boasts single bedrooms, providing students with their own personal space. The hall prides itself on fostering a strong sense of community, encouraging involvement, responsibility, and achievement. This supportive environment ensures that students have a great start to their university life.

One of the highlights of Capital Hall is the spacious entertainment area on level 4. Bathed in natural light, this open space serves as a hub for socializing, studying, and hosting various events and meetings. It's the perfect place to unwind, play games, and meet new friends.

When it comes to accommodation fees, the 2024 rates quoted for Capital Hall include all essential amenities such as food, electricity, heating, and internet. The exact rate will be confirmed upon receiving your offer. Additionally, if you opt for a Trimester 1 only contract, there will be an additional fee of 10 percent to cover the cost of finding someone to take over your room when you leave.

The inter-hall events calendar is packed with exciting activities throughout the year, including sports events, quiz nights, talent quests, film festival screenings, and hall formals. These events, along with inter-floor activities, ensure that students have a well-rounded university experience.

Student support coordinators, who are registered health professionals, are assigned to each hall, providing easy access to counseling support and promoting overall wellbeing.

Additionally, there are mentoring programs and support networks available within our diverse communities.

Living with others can sometimes be challenging, but at Capital Hall, we utilize a restorative justice process to address conflicts and rule-breaking. This process encourages everyone involved to work together and reach an agreement to restore relationships.

For residents of the hall who are not enrolled as students at the University, we have a misconduct process schedule available for reference.
