About the Business
Welcome to the Ballarat Grammar Centre For Early Education (CEEd), located at Wendouree, Norman Street, 1099. Our purpose-built facility at Ballarat Grammar provides a bright and interactive learning space for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
At CEEd, we believe in creating a strong community of young learners within a larger community of learners. We strive to nurture a sense of belonging where children, families, and educators feel welcome, supported, and engaged.
Our educational philosophy is derived from experience, theory, and research. We draw inspiration from the Reggio Emilia educational approach, nature pedagogy, and positive psychology. We believe that young children are strong, powerful, and competent individuals, filled with ideas. We also emphasize the importance of character development and wellbeing for academic success. Additionally, we consider the environment as an educator itself, and we believe that experiences in nature promote positive psychological, physical, and cognitive wellbeing.
Our curriculum is consistent with the Ballarat Grammar Learning Philosophy and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF). We also adhere to the National Quality Framework and Education and Care Services National Regulations, ensuring quality assurance in our service.
Through our strong philosophy, relationships, and learning opportunities, we aim to create an environment where children are deeply engaged in purposeful play. We want them to feel happy, challenged, safe, and independent to explore and become confident learners. Our goal is to support children in becoming self-disciplined, creative, and confident individuals who have the desire to solve problems, think critically, and reach their full potential.
One of our unique programs is the Bush Kinder Program, where our Reception and Kindergarten groups engage in outdoor learning regardless of the weather. Children use the spacious natural environment on the Grammar campus to source their own learning, without the use of tools, toys, or art supplies.
In addition to our own facilities, being part of Ballarat Grammar provides our early learners with wonderful opportunities. The School's strategic focus on educating the whole child is highly valued by staff, parents, and children across all year levels. Our learning environment at CEEd focuses on preparing children for the world, nourishing their joy in learning, and building skills for life.
The Ballarat Grammar campus offers additional learning opportunities beyond our immediate facility. Indoor stadiums, playgrounds, libraries, and performing arts areas provide diverse learning experiences. The natural environments, such as ovals, gardens, and outdoor learning sanctuaries, challenge and stimulate learning. Kindergarten excursions to our Mt Rowan Farm campus further enhance their educational experiences.
We are proud to have a team of highly qualified, professional, and experienced Early Childhood educators. Our commitment to ongoing professional learning, along with our belief in the importance of collaboration with families, ensures that all our children are supported to reach their full potential as early learners.
As part of our focus on a positive transition to Prep (primary school), we have a Transition to School Program starting in Term 3 for our Kindergarten children. This includes a Buddy Program with Year 5 students in the Ballarat Grammar Junior School and visits between CEEd and the Junior School.
At Ballarat and Queen's Anglican Grammar School, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn, live, and work β the Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung People. We recognize their continuing connection to the land and waterways and pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging, extending this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
We would like to express our gratitude to local businesses Mass Motion, Bold Communication, and DotDev for their contribution to the production of this website.
Join us at Ballarat Grammar Centre For Early Education and let us provide your child with a nurturing and enriching learning experience.
