"It has been a big day. We stayed in Wellington last night with Janelle’s daughter, imagine my surprise when I discovered The Flat White had been stolen from outside their house in Lower Hutt. Not a good look, considering we were meant to be on the ferry 4 hrs later. We reported the theft to the cops and ‘detective Margot’ put up a post on the local Facebook page. 5 minutes later someone from two streets away posted, it was outside their house. What a lucky find! Only damage was a smashed ignition lock and all the tools , torches etc were gone. They couldn’t get the engine to start. Very lucky! Also very lucky, the bikes (and Dean’s ladder) were still there. We think they may have been interrupted. A quick call to the guys at Midas Lower Hutt and they came out and sorted the lock out and we got on our way to the ferry, just in time for the final check in! Thanks ‘Detective Margot’ and the guys at Midas Lower Hutt, you rock! Yep, it has been quite a morning . . . Cheers Brett"
