Yilli Rreung Housing Aboriginal Corp.
About the Business
Welcome to Yilli Rreung Housing Aboriginal Corp., located at 23 Callanan Road in Yarrawonga, Australia. Established in 2003, Yilli Rreung Housing Aboriginal Corporation is a nationally registered Community Housing Provider (CHP) under the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC).
As the largest single provider of community housing in the Northern Territory, we take pride in our portfolio of over two hundred properties across the Greater Darwin Region. Our primary focus is on managing tenancies and municipal services for Indigenous communities, providing affordable housing to individuals and families who are disadvantaged in the mainstream housing market.
Yilli Housing is a peak independent, non-government, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organization dedicated to delivering affordable, accessible, and sustainable quality housing to people in the Top End of the Northern Territory. We offer affordable housing, which is long-term accommodation offered at a rate below the average rental price, specifically targeting low-income families and individuals who are not eligible for public housing but cannot access private rentals.
Most of our affordable houses are located at Berrimah Estate, with additional properties scattered across Darwin and Palmerston areas. In addition to affordable housing, we also manage community housing for Indigenous people within Community living areas, such as town camps and outstations. Currently, we oversee ten town camps and outstations across the Top End Region.
To ensure the well-being of our community members, Yilli also maintains essential services such as electricity and solar power, roads, sewerage, water, ground maintenance, and rubbish removal through our Municipal Services Program. We are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment for all residents.
For those visiting Darwin from remote communities, we offer YiSSA, a short-term accommodation located at 55 Batten Road Marrara. YiSSA provides guests with meals, laundry facilities, and support services, allowing them to stay in a safe and affordable place while visiting the city.
At Yilli, we have a dedicated team that handles house repairs, yard maintenance, cleaning, and infrastructure projects. We prioritize employing and supporting local Indigenous workers and businesses, contributing to the economic growth and empowerment of our community.
In addition to our housing services, Yilli offers various repairs and maintenance services to government departments and organizations in the Darwin Region. We take pride in our ability to provide reliable and efficient services to our partners.
Please note that Yilli Housing does not provide Emergency Relief assistance. However, you can visit our Services Directory page to find Emergency Relief providers near your area.
Finally, we invite you to check out The Prouds videos for great ideas on how everyone can have a proud home and a proud community. We believe in building a positive future for the Aboriginal community and acknowledge the Larrakia people as the Traditional Owners of the Darwin region. We pay our respects to Larrakia elders, both past and present.
