Gatton Kindergartens

Welcome to Gatton Kindergartens, a community-based institution located in the heart of the Lockyer Valley in South-East Queensland, Australia. Established in 1955 and built in 1960, Gatton Kindergarten is maintained by the Gatton Kindergarten Association Incorporated, which consists of parents of the children attending each year.

At Gatton Kindergartens, our primary focus is on the well-being and development of children aged 3 to 5 years who are of pre-prep age. Unlike private services or corporate child care facilities that prioritize profits for shareholders, our services are solely dedicated to the benefit of the children and the community. All income generated is reinvested back into enhancing the educational experience and resources available to our students.

We currently have two spacious rooms (Units) that can accommodate up to 48 children per day, with a maximum enrollment of 96 children across four groups. Our facility is licensed under the Childcare Regulation 2003 and the Childcare Act 2002 (Qld), ensuring that we meet the highest standards of safety and care.

Our educational program is implemented by highly qualified Early Childhood Education teachers who possess the knowledge and skills to maximize children's learning through a play-based emergent curriculum. We believe that children learn best through hands-on experiences and exploration, and our teachers create a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes holistic development.

To ensure the quality of our program and facility, Gatton Kindergarten participates in a Quality Improvement and Accreditation System administered by the National Childcare Accreditation Council. We also receive guidance and support from Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services (QLECS), who consult with our committee and Service Leader on various aspects such as finance, staffing, and compliance matters. QLECS also provides curriculum support, approval assistance, grant applications, and financial administration to ensure smooth operations.
