"The premises are filthy. On both occasions when our Labrador stayed, when we picked him up he smelled really bad because of the state of the kennels, and the owners are very unfriendly and show little care towards owners or their animals."

That's the only reason they have a 4 star rating, BEWARE* I just called the owner of this resort to discuss some things I had an issue with and I was yelled at and accused of fabricating my claims. I have never been spoken to like that as a customer despite remaining apologetic that I had to make that phone call in the first place. The owner wasn't interested in hearing what I had to say and made no effort to apologise for the poor treatment of my cat so I'm left to leave this review. When booking my cat in to the Purrs and Paws Pet Resort, the people were kind and welcoming and I had no issues. Now I understand why they were the only place in Darwin to have any availability over the Christmas period. I picked up my cat yesterday afternoon and was disappointed to see him distressed, dehydrated and hungry. He was hissing at the man (which I've never heard him hiss) who was spraying him with water to get him out of the cage which was completely unnecessary because the cat was coming towards us anyway. This resort claim they don't spray the cats, the spray "behind them" however when I picked my cat up out of the cage, he was wet? Despite telling the girl how much food he needed to be fed - they over fed him. Despite being over fed, he was so stressed that he lost 10% of his body weight in 12 days. I also noticed when I picked up my cat, that his water bowl was empty. Water is a basic necessity and under no circumstances should the cats not have access to clean water. These people clearly don't have compassion for animals because in the cattery, next to my cat, was a parrot that had been left in a cat cage with no perches. The bird was extremely distressed and was flying around the cage freaking out. I wouldn't leave a review like this if the owner attempted to make any decent form of conversation over the phone but to be yelled at and not given a chance to speak, I am frustrated and dumbfounded at how any business can treat customers this way. It is a disgusting way to treat another person and I will never bring my cat here again."

"Requested an airconditioned space but my dog didn't get this. She was there less than 2 weeks and had lost weight so that her ribs were showing. It cost me 300$ at the vet for diagnosis and treatment of the ringworm she was covered in. Never will use this poor service again."

"DO NOT KEEP YOUR PETS HERE They are treated terribly by the business owners. Our pet was sprayed with water by Rob who runs the cattery and was incredibly scared by his presence. I don't know what goes on when people are not around but I can only assume they are treated even worse. They even locked a parrot in one of the Cat Kennels when we were there! It was incredibly frightened and was having a panic attack when we approached. They lie about what food is fed to the animals. Our cat stopped eating and lost almost 500g in the 1.5 weeks he was there. After calling them to explain how disappointed with the care our animal received we were abused by both owners. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE. THEY WILL NOT BE SAFE."

"The cheapest place for quality pet care. From experience, animals are well catered for and have plenty of 'human' time with the owners. Our pet is always reluctant to leave when being picked up. What better sign is there that your pet has enjoyed the stay?! Leave your animals here with peace of mind that they will be lovingly looked after."
