If you require more time or have multiple concerns to discuss, we recommend booking a long appointment to ensure all your needs are addressed thoroughly.

We understand that circumstances may arise where you need to cancel your appointment. We kindly request that you cancel at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled time. This can be done conveniently through HotDoc, by replying 'NO' to your reminder text, or by contacting our receptionists. Please note that failure to cancel your appointment will result in a non-attendance fee of $20, which is not eligible for a Medicare rebate.

For patients who have undergone blood tests or medical imaging, we highly recommend scheduling an appointment to personally discuss the results with your doctor. This ensures a high standard of medical care and maintains patient confidentiality, as it can be challenging to identify individuals over the phone.

In addition to our regular services, the Launceston Medical Centre offers a walk-in clinic for semi-urgent presentations. This convenient service operates 365 days a year, with no appointment necessary. The walk-in clinic operates Monday to Friday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, weekends and public holidays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and on Christmas Day from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

For health information and advice, the Healthdirect phone service, funded by the Government, is available 24 hours a day. You can reach them at 1800 022 222.

For acute, episodic conditions such as gastro, UTI, migraines, and respiratory infections, the National Home Doctor Service is available on weeknights, weekends, and public holidays. Bookings can be made from 6:00 pm weekdays, 12:00 pm Saturdays, all day Sunday, and on public holidays by calling 13 7425 (13 SICK).
