Family Doctor Service
About the Business
Welcome to Family Doctor Service, located at 137 Hobart Road in Kings Meadows, Tasmania. We are a dedicated team of professional practitioners and staff ready to provide ongoing support for all your health care needs.
At Family Doctor Service, our commitment is to provide ongoing support to our community, with our patients' well-being in the forefront of our minds. We understand the importance of convenience, which is why we have partnered with Launceston Pathology to offer FREE blood collection services within our practice.
In addition, we have a dietitian, podiatrist, and audiologist available for FREE consultations to eligible patients. Please enquire within to see if you qualify for these services.
Flu shots are also available FREE of charge for all patients over the age of 65, as well as for those with chronic diseases such as diabetes and asthma. These shots are typically available around the middle of April each year.
Our mission is to provide quality services at affordable prices. We bulk bill ALL concession card holders, ensuring that everyone has access to the care they need.
Dr. Stewart is available for consultations on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Both new and existing patients are welcome to make an appointment by phoning 63435556.
We are thrilled to have a team of highly experienced doctors at our practice. Dr. Zoe is passionate about Tasmania and all its natural beauties, while Dr. Indrani brings over 8 years of clinical experience in various settings. We are also excited to welcome Dr. Jannat ARA, who recently moved to Launceston from Sydney, and Dr. Grace, who will be working five days a week and welcomes all patients.
In January 2019, we will be welcoming Dr. Rosalette Prinsloo to our practice. Dr. Prinsloo has recently joined us and brings a wealth of experience.
We have a "Did Not Arrive (DNA)" policy in place to ensure efficient scheduling. If you happen to miss your third appointment without notifying us, we will record it in our system.
We are also delighted to introduce Amelia White, our dietitian. We accept both private and bulk billed referrals for her services.
If you are interested in receiving a flu shot, please give us a call at 63435556 to check if you qualify.
Caroline, one of our doctors, completed her medical training in Tasmania before obtaining her post-graduate degree in Canberra. She returned to Tasmania and is now a valued member of our team.

"3 times in the last 12 months my son or I have had to go without medications for a week or more but they always make an excuse. It's not as if it's just now and then, I know of others who have also been left without their regular medication because it was 2 weeks or more before they could get an appointment"
"Went to this doctor twice about lower back pain, two different doctors, only to be fat shamed and told to lose weight and drink more water. Get back to qld to finally have a scan to be told I have 4 bulging discs impinging on 2 nerves. This place is a danger to society."
"Have been in clinic with Dr Teck Teh for 5years and he provides excellent service."
"I have been attending Kings Meadows Family Doctors Service for quite some years as doctors have moved on I have changed to the new doctor. Everyone of the doctors I've seen have been great with the best patient doctor relationship. The receptionist staff are the best and could teach many front of house staff of many businesses just what client service means. If there is anyway possible to help they will do it. Nothing is ever too much for them."
"My wife and I have attended the practice for 5 years (my wife is disabled and has complex care needs). Our doctor does his best to look after us and shows empathy. Sometimes we have a long wait time but I think this is beyond the practice's control, as one late patient can screw up the whole day and some people really do have complex issues. Would recommend to anyone and we are grateful for being bulk-billed."
