College of Business and Economics
About the Business
Welcome to the College of Business and Economics, located in the heart of Launceston's Civic Square. As an establishment and point of interest, we offer more than just studying. Our institution is dedicated to providing a holistic university experience, where you can connect with new people through events, sports, volunteering opportunities, and more.
At the College of Business and Economics, we take pride in our research excellence, which not only benefits Tasmania but also delivers global impact. We are committed to forming deep connections, not only within our university community but also with local industry, schools, and everyone who calls our beautiful island home.
One of our notable achievements is being ranked number one on climate action for universities internationally. For two consecutive years, we have been recognized as the world-leader in taking climate action, as rated by the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. We are proud to contribute to a sustainable future for Tasmania and the world.
Our institution offers a diverse range of degrees, including the Bachelor of Natural Environment and Wilderness, which provides a global perspective on the big issues. Students like Gemma Rushton have taken advantage of studying in one of the world's most incredible environments, immersing themselves in the beauty of Tasmania while pursuing their passions.
Tasmania is a state that embraces the outdoors, turning everyone into an outdoors person. Upadhya Anjalie Balachandra was drawn to Tasmania by its natural beauty and the opportunity to pursue her interests, even taking up surfing. Our state runs on renewable energy and is a global pioneer in hydroelectricity, offering our students unrivaled industry access and opportunities.
As we reimagine education at our campuses, we are committed to providing a good education to as many Tasmanians as possible. Our goal is to strengthen and future-proof our ability to do this, transforming the University of Tasmania to meet the evolving needs of our students and communities.
Join us at our campuses in Launceston, Hobart, and Sydney for events where you can explore uni life, learn about our courses, pathways, and scholarships straight from students and teaching staff. Register now and stay updated on the exciting opportunities we have to offer.
We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our students and faculty, such as the four early-career researchers who have been awarded a total of $1,773,740.00 in the Discovery Early Career Researcher Awards. Our music students have also had the privilege of learning from internationally renowned musicians like Stefan Dohr from the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
At the College of Business and Economics, we understand the importance of climate change education and its integration into schooling. We believe in preparing the next generation to tackle the environmental challenges we face.
