Peacehaven Botanic Park
About the Business
Welcome to Peacehaven Botanic Park, located in Highfields, just a 15-minute drive north of Toowoomba’s CBD. This establishment is not just your ordinary park - it is a breathtaking tourist attraction that will leave you in awe. With its impressive collection of over 400 different species of native plants and trees, Peacehaven Botanic Park is a nature lover's paradise.
As you enter the park, you will be greeted by an adventure playground that is perfect for all ages. This nature-themed playground allows children to let their imaginations run wild as they excavate a dinosaur skeleton, climb a giant Crows Ash seed pod, and explore the various play structures. Nearby, you will find a frog pond with larger-than-life native frog sculptures, providing another delightful discovery for children.
If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy a picnic or BBQ, Peacehaven Botanic Park has got you covered. With plenty of cooking facilities, shelters, and tables, you can gather with your loved ones and enjoy a meal surrounded by the park's natural beauty. Take a leisurely stroll along the wheelchair-friendly pathways and immerse yourself in the established gardens. Keep an eye out for the many different bird species and wildlife that call this park their home.
Peacehaven Botanic Park is not just a place for leisure, it also holds great significance. It exists today because of the generosity and far-sightedness of local dairy farmer Stan Kuhl, who donated 4.7 hectares of land adjacent to his house for its development. Although Stan passed away before his dream was realized, his vision lives on. The park officially opened in 2006 and has since expanded to 5.4 hectares in 2012.
Toowoomba Regional Council takes great pride in working alongside the Friends of Peacehaven Botanic Park to maintain this beautiful sanctuary. You can even purchase native plants from the Peacehaven Botanic Park Native Nursery, with each purchase contributing to funding special projects within the park. The nursery is operated by dedicated volunteers who have a wealth of knowledge about native plants and are more than happy to assist you in choosing the perfect additions for your own garden.
The park itself is a haven for biodiversity, with rare and endangered plants from South-East Queensland housed within its boundaries. The park's 4.7 hectares encompass a variety of ecosystems, including dry and wet rainforests, wetlands, and open grassland areas. Signed walkways wind their way through local species plantings, providing an educational aspect to your visit. Each walkway features artistic mosaic tiles that symbolize different aspects of the natural environment.
If you're planning a wedding or looking for a picturesque spot for wedding photography, Peacehaven Botanic Park has you covered. The grand rotunda offers a formal area with stunning views to the west, creating a perfect backdrop for your special day. The park's picturesque lake, with its viewing platform and bench seating, provides a tranquil setting to sit and enjoy the beauty of nature.
We invite you to come and experience the serenity and natural wonders that Peacehaven Botanic Park has to offer. Whether you're seeking a place to unwind, explore, or celebrate, this park is the perfect destination. Book your visit today and be prepared to be captivated by the beauty of this unique establishment.

"Peacehaven is a great park to go to if you live at highfields or even outside of town. There are playgrounds, bbq facilities, undercover gazebos qnd eating areas. There are walking trails, toilet blocks and plenty of open grass areas to play games or kick a footy. The clients we take out here absolutely love coming out here. At the bottom of the park there is a great view of Meringandan and further west."
