Dr. Chandra Dontham, a registered medical practitioner since 2003, leads our team. She completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Australia and obtained fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG) in 2014. Dr. Dontham has gained valuable experience in Advanced Laparoscopic surgery and Pelvic floor surgery during her time at Westmead Hospital and The Royal Women’s Hospital, among others.

As a member of various medical associations, including the Australian Medical Association and RANZCOG, Dr. Dontham is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to her patients. She specializes in women's health care and offers a comprehensive and caring approach to address their health concerns.

At South Coast Gynaecology, we offer a range of procedures that can be performed in the comfort of our office setting, eliminating the need for hospital admission and general anesthesia. This not only provides a pleasant experience but also allows for quicker recovery times.

Please note that our clinic operates on a private billing basis, meaning that all consultations attract a fee. We accept payments through EFTPOS, cash, and credit card. For most of our in-office procedures, our billing policy is based on the AMA fee schedule. Medicare refunds are available, and we can lodge claims immediately through Medicare Online, saving time for our patients.

Private health insurance is advisable for procedures performed at a private hospital. Dr. Dontham has agreements with the majority of health funds, and an informed financial consent (IFC) will be provided at the time of booking surgery. It is important for patients to check with their health fund regarding coverage.

For patients without private health insurance or those residing in the Peel Health Campus Catchment area, public treatment options are available. Surgical treatment in Peel Health Campus does not involve any costs, but waiting periods may apply according to the Surgical Waitlist policy of Western Australia.

Self-insured patients are also welcome at our clinic. Prior to any procedures, we will provide a written estimate of fees for your convenience.
