"Only visited website and emailed hoping for some info and maybe some work on my car. Email bounced. Not a good start."
"Beware spend your money elsewhere! Would not recommend this place, I was quoted at over $3000 for problems diagnosed with my van, got a second opinion and the price was no where near this. He charged over $1000 to change the IAC as well as a service and diagnosis. I only asked to diagnose the idling problem which we mentioned would be the IAC. He did extra services which we did not ask for and also quoted us very expensive prices for other problems diagnosed. We were able to get a second opinion from another mechanic who said this was a rip off and charged us the normal rate which was no where near $3000."
"Amazing experience, Claytons went above and beyond to help my family when we were stuck. Kept us up to date with what was happening, gave us a courtesy car so we could get around and then helped us out again at short notice. We have been travelling around Australia and Claytons has been the best car garage we have ever used. Thank you for getting us back in the road!"
"My VW was in dire need of attention and when I called Clayton he was very accommodating and once the issues were diagnosed he thoroughly explained this to me. The work was completed and am very happy with the service they offer. Highly recommend as a trustworthy mechanical centre."
"The trouble with mechanics is that you trust them. I thought at the time the final price was way above what should be expected of a minor service and aircon clean ($470) and way above the original quote of $195. It was only after taking the car to another place for some other work did we get an opinion on what was done. The other place didn't have much good to say about Clayton's, giving us an estimate of $270 (and not adding GST at the end). Oh yeah, Clayton didn't check the coolant, which was empty. He also recommended a wheel alignment but the place he recommended said we needed two new tyres, so we went elsewhere to get a second opinion. The next place said the tyres were slightly worn on the outside but good for another 10,000km. I doubt he did anything to the aircon, apart from put freshner in it, charging $70. Live and learn. Never again."
